Operation Backlot

Media Sages 2022

Pat Diggs

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's lead researcher, Kitonga Alexander, project director, Patricia Diggs (publisher, Bronzeville, A Lifestyle), Arts Wisconsin and an UWM affiliation and a grant from Greater Milwaukee Foundation launches, Milwaukee Bronzeville Histories, a virtual interactive platform of the history, arts and culture of Milwaukee Bronzeville, an African American community in Milwaukee.

This ongoing digital platform archives and preserves Milwaukee Bronzeville history with oral histories, research database, podcasts, a teaching resource and a self-guided walking tour of the Milwaukee community.

The platform launches at Bronzeville Week 2022 with a self guided tour brochure and a History In The Making humanities venue. The platform starts a curriculum and a digital historic research lab providing "good will," amongst all communities.
